A fully-featured Seven-position length-of-pull (LOP) adjustable buttstock is quickly executed with gross motor movement while the integral preset system allows direct access to a preferred position. Unlike typical collapsing stocks, this modular design offers the stability of a fixed stock with consistent cheek weld in any position improving head stability and line of sight when targeting. A powerful lock mechanism and multi-shell construction increase durability under severe impact conditions experienced during malfunction clearing and accommodates virtually any arm length. The revolutionary stock also provides extra counterbalance weight to improve handling of weapons with muzzle-heavy accessories or bull-barrels thus reducing warfighter fatigue while shooting in the standing position. Components such as dual-side quick-detach (QD) sling mounts and metal strike plate allows the buttstock to adapt to the mission at hand.
With tactile grip technology applied to the UBR’s grip, the warfighter has a stable non-slip grasping area that not only helps reduce fatigue on a soldiers hand during rapid fire but also improves weapon control. The grip on the UBR-16 is specially designed to retain the important lines and aesthetics of the weapon, while at the same time providing a comfortable lightweight rubber grip with ergonomically correct finger grooves and palm swells. The grip has been meticulously researched and designed to include an integrated rear upper extension that supports the web of your hand that is virtually impervious to oils and solvents.
Manufactured from a single aluminum piece, the single position abbreviated vertical forend grip is one third the size of standard vertical grips and maintains the same profile of typical folding grips. It is light weight, strong and durable capable of performing in a wide range of environmental conditions. This robust yet lightweight vertical forend grip has been specifically selected to endure battlefield conditions.
Inside the weapon; all points of friction are coated and protected with self-lubricating UmbraTec. Selected by research engineers at Advanced Technologies Development Division (ATDD), our UmbraTec coating is a proprietary treatment process that is resistant to temperatures exceeding 500 degrees Fahrenheit. UmbraTec is hydrophobic and demonstrate mitigated London dispersion forces due to the high electronegativity of its diatomic molecules. This protects against corrosion and wear. UmbraTec has one of the lowest coefficients of friction against any solid and is non-reactive, partly because of the strength of its chemical bonds thus reducing wear on internal parts and increasing cyclic efficiency. Simply put, UmbraTec reduces friction, wear and energy consumption of interior components.
With UmbraTec the UBR-16 interior components are easily cleaned in less time than typical and/or conventional MIL-SPEC rifles. This reduces maintenance time, reduces “jamming” or “freezing” of the weapon while improving efficiency in cyclic rate and heat dispersion in all combat environments including maritime operations. The entire weapon is coated in UmbraTec and comes with a lifetime warranty, ensuring the longevity of your UBR-16. If a UBR ever fails due to a manufacturing defect, even after extended use, we will repair the product, without charge, or replace it, at our discretion. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of materials over extended time and use. Damage not covered under warranty will be repaired for a reasonable rate and a fee will be charged for return shipping.
